Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Program Includes

Exercise on the treadmill, recumbent bike and arm ergometer. Typically, we begin with 5 minutes on each machine and continue to increase the number of minutes by one each day/session, as long as you can tolerate that. We start out slow and move at a slow pace that's comfortable for you and build up from there.
Your pulse and oxygen level are checked before, during and after exercise; while your blood pressure is checked before and after exercise.
You are eligible to meet with a nutritionist and discuss appropriate diet techniques. Handouts about various pulmonary/lung related topics are also available.
Teach and encourage breathing techniques that help when you get short of breath. Includes, pursed lip and diaphragmatic breathing.
